VR17 - Lorry Loader Cranes in Vehicle Recovery
VR17 is a specialized certification that focuses on the safe and proficient use of lorry loader recovery units for routine removal procedures in various scenarios, including road traffic collisions, parking incidents, and more. This module delves into the operation of lorry loader recovery units on cars, car-derived vans, and light commercial vehicles up to 3500kg GVM. UPAS stands for Publicly Available Specification and 43 is simply the sequential number in the range of these standards. It is known as a sector scheme and the way sector schemes differ from ISO standards is that they are designed for a particular area of business. PAS 43 is designed for the vehicle recovery industry with the aim of improving health and safety and promoting best practice. It sets out the standards for vehicle recovery operators and one of the main areas of focus is the safety of road recovery operator technicians and road users. It is intended to promote best practice for operators attending the recovery, repair and removal of vehicles from the roadside.
